Student Sponsorship Programme
Sponsor a Child’s Education in Ghana
Remove the economic barriers that keep children out of school. Your regular sponsorship provides tuition support, uniforms, learning materials, and daily hot meals across basic schools in the Central Region.
Direct Ground Impact
Why Individual Sponsorship Matters
Whilst basic education in Ghana is tuition-free by law, the ancillary expenses of schooling are not. In farming and coastal fishing settlements around Elmina, families often struggle with the cost of required exercise books, geometry sets, School Management Committee levies, and mandatory uniforms.
When parents must choose between purchasing work tools and outfitting a child for class, children frequently stay at home. Through the Student Sponsorship Programme, the Michael Kunke Foundation pairs sponsored pupils with trusted local mentors to ensure uninterrupted school attendance from kindergarten through to Junior High completion.
What “sponsoring” means here: You are not adopting a child. The child stays with their family. Your gift pays for their school needs and, where we can, a little extra such as food.
What Your Sponsorship Delivers Each Term
Stationery & Textbooks
Syllabus-aligned notebooks, pens, mathematical sets, and shared reading readers.
Uniforms & Footwear
Two sets of tailored uniforms and durable footwear so no pupil attends barefoot.
Nutrition & Canteen
Nutritious midday meals at school dining canteens, ensuring children stay alert and focused.
Termly Monitoring
Visits by Foundation field officers to review academic report cards and school attendance.
What You Receive as a Sponsor
- Pupil Profile & Welcome Letter: Background information on the school, community, and pupil you are supporting within 14 days of enrolment.
- End of Term Report Card: A verified performance update showing academic progress, attendance figures, and teacher observations.
- Annual Photo Dispatch: A photographic update showing your sponsored pupil with their uniforms and learning provisions.
Child Safeguarding Commitment
In accordance with Ghana Social Welfare and international safeguarding standards, all correspondence is facilitated strictly through the Foundation. Personal contact details of pupils and sponsors are never shared directly.
Choose Your Pledge
15% covers administration and running costs. This 85/15 split is calculated after Paystack's ~1.95% secure payment processing fee is deducted from your gift — that fee goes to Paystack, not the Foundation.
