ABREM-AGONA, GHANA — In recognition of a profound and sustained commitment to human capital development, Mr. Michael Kunke, CEO of the Michael Kunke Foundation, has been officially honoured by the Abrem-Agona Circuit of the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem (KEEA) Municipality Education Service. Presented by Madam Mercy Akua Lissar, the KEEA Director of Education, the citation lauded his “outstanding commitment to educational development and community upliftment in the KEEA Municipality.”
Multi-Sector Interventions Driving Sustainable Change
Operating under the guiding motto “Dare to Dream & Make a Difference,” the Foundation has systematically dismantled localised barriers to basic and secondary education through a suite of integrated development pillars:
-
Infrastructural Rehabilitation: Executing vital capital improvements, including the re-roofing of Junior High School blocks to restore safe, weather-resilient learning environments.
-
Material Support & Equity: Alleviating direct household expenditures by distributing school bags, essential stationery, and pedagogical materials to pupils.
-
Targeted Scholarships: Funding academic pathways for financially disadvantaged yet academically gifted learners to ensure educational continuity with dignity.
-
Holistic Community Frameworks: Deploying flagship initiatives such as the Education Empowerment for Sustainable Communities (EESC) programme, the Digital Literacy Program, and the Women in Sexual Education (WISE) project to foster broad social upliftment.
Measurable Community Impact
These collaborative interventions have yielded tangible outcomes across the Abrem Circuit and wider KEEA Municipality, directly enhancing student retention, curbing school drop-out rates driven by economic precarity, and instilling renewed confidence among pupils, educators, and local stakeholders.
This momentum is sustained through robust public-private partnerships. The Foundation extends deep gratitude to its core network of institutional collaborators, including Lemon Beach Resort, Freelancenana Travels, Felicia Brown-Smith, RazorSocial, Dr. Armen D. Ross, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Accra, Nana Preston, Sarah Bynes, Sophia Pryce, and Samuel Nyarkoh.
