The Kunke Foundation Furnishes Classrooms At Agona Amanful Mensakrom Methodist Primary School

Worth about GHC4,000, a delivery of chairs, tables and ceiling fans from The Kunke Foundation gave classrooms at Agona Amanful Mensakrom Methodist Primary School a fresh start, the Foundation’s third such donation in the region.

The items were straightforward but sorely needed: 36 chairs, a teacher’s table, three round tables for children, six big tables and two ceiling fans, enough to furnish several classrooms and improve ventilation during the hottest parts of the school day.

Presenting the items, co-founder Mrs Joana Kunke said the Foundation had been moved by the school’s situation.

“…and as a Foundation that supports education in the country we thought it wise to support Agona Amanful Mensakrom Methodist Primary School,” she said.

The school’s headmistress, who received the donation, thanked the Foundation and used the occasion to call on other NGOs, philanthropists and civil society organisations to come to the school’s aid, appealing in particular for computers and further teaching and learning materials. Michael Kunke, founder of the Foundation, promised to provide these in time.

Formed in 2006 and already active in the Agona East District through its support for Agona Amanful ADA Pre-School, the Foundation’s work at the Methodist Primary School was part of a wider, ongoing commitment to the schools of Mensakrom and its surrounding communities.
